Content

This unit integrates and broadens the theory and practice of the preceding two units with particular focus on an advanced understanding of human encounter through critical reflection and reflective practice, including theological reflection as it informs values and practice. Trauma, the issues of culture in its many meanings, diversity in its many forms, power in the supervisory relationship, and other power dynamics (e.g., institutional) are explored to enable effective professional supervision of both groups and individuals. Regular personal reflective practice is recommended to support role-based engagement. This unit requires each student to log 10 hours as a supervisor in training. Additionally, the student will receive 3 hours of supervision provided by a UD recommended supervisor.
