Collaborative leadership is an important element for the success of any complex organisation. Leadership in a matrix or multiple level organisation requires collaborative skills and abilities to engage various stakeholders in decision-making, collaboration and gaining endorsements to achieve outcomes.
In this is unit, the students will explore ways to collaborate with others in teams, organisations, and community through a series of case studies and real-life experiences. They will learn theories and practice by developing their critical thinking, relationship building and negotiation skills.

This is an elective unit in the Graduate Certificate in (Transformational) Leadership, Graduate Diploma in Leadership and Master of Leadership
All learning material including video lectures and practitioner interviews are accessible on the Learning Management System asynchronously. The learning material are divided up in six modules with specific topics in each module. Students will need to attend a weekly webinar on a weeknight to engage with the tutor and discuss the learning material and assessments. The students will also need to attend two intensive days on the second and fourth Saturdays of the Teaching Period that will be run as workshops to discuss the topics and engage with supplementary learning material and practical exercises and scenarios relevant to the topics of the unit.
Alternatively, this unit may also be delivered in a three day face to face intensive to supplement the Learning material on the Learning Management System with no webinars.

Project Report or Project Journal - Collaborative Project | The student will engage in a collaborative group work as an action research project using certain organisational setting to develop practical and contextualised recommended solutions to a professional practice dilemma. A report will be produced in two sections. The first is the situation analysis and their recommendations, the second is their personal and collaborative reflection on the group process and collaborative actions and learning. |
