This unit explores the significance and importance of interreligious dialogue in a multi-religious context. As an expression of the church's mission, and of an experience of rootedness and openness to other traditions, it will be informed by a theological commitment to unity based on the common origin and destiny of all, the divine mystery, who is in dialogue with humanity. This unit will further examine the biblical and theological foundations for interreligious dialogue and address its related challenges and opportunities. It will engage in some practices of dialogue for the purpose of seeking a harmonious society in the Australian context and beyond.
