Content

The unit is a practical study of preaching in the context of worship and mission. The focus of the unit will be on preaching the Scriptures within specific liturgical occasions but will also explore the purpose and method of evangelistic preaching. Students will develop a critical framework for understanding the nature and purpose of preaching, building on foundational skills in biblical studies and theology. They will explore the relationship of preaching to its context in worship, and prepare a sermon addressed to a particular context.
