This unit integrates the history, theology and hermeneutics of Christian preaching with the practice of preaching. Students will be actively engaged in the preparation, delivery and theological reflection of preaching in various contexts and will be reviewed by practitioners and peers.

Foundational Units in Biblical and Theology Studies. In addition, studies in Christology, Pneumatology and Moral Theology are highly recommended. This unit is restricted to Ordination to the Priesthood and Permanent Diaconate candidates.
This unit is designed to run across a full year with lecture/seminar sessions and practical preaching sessions with feedback and theological reflection. Verbal feedback and theological reflection in portfolio may be recorded or videoed as well as written.
Option 1: 20 hours lecture/seminar and 16 hours of practice with feedback and theological reflection done in two series (one per semester).
Option 2: 20 hours lecture/seminar teaching in one semester and 16 hours of practice with feedback and theological reflection in second semester.
