This unit is designed to build on the unit Worship and Preaching. Attention is given to the development of a conceptual understanding of preaching along with related skills that underpin a narrative approach to preaching in a Western postmodern context. The unit is centred around understanding and practicing narrative inductive preaching, building on an exploration of the ideas of Fred Craddock, Eugene Lowry, Paul Ricoeur, Thomas G. Long, and Anna Carter Florence. It gives significant attention to women preachers and writers.
