Content

This unit introduces students to the Church’s participation in God’s mission, exploring the biblical, historical, and theological foundations that shape Christian engagement with the world. It examines how mission and service have been understood and practised across different contexts, including the complexities of cultural encounter, societal change, and ecclesial identity. Through engagement with contemporary expressions of mission and reflection on the Church’s responsibilities in diverse communities, students consider what it means to bear witness with integrity, compassion, and attentiveness to context.
