This ecumenically sensitive unit introduces the origin, nature and development of the Church of Jesus Christ as the community of his followers. The unit examines the question of the identity of Jesus, and from there it focuses on the Church as the sign and instrument of Jesus Christ today, the Spirit-filled People of God, the Body of Christ, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in the mission, life, sacraments, and ministries of the Church.
