Content

This unit begins to transition you from student to practitioner. However, to be an effective counsellor, and to have longevity in the profession, one needs good self-care. Over the next eight weeks students will have the opportunity to consider various self-care options and experience which are best suited to their circumstances. Students will also be introduced to professional practice in a variety of ways, begin to work more independently of their teachers, and begin to form their own professional networks. In doing so students will be well prepared to commence supervised counselling practice in the third year of their degree.
