This postgraduate elective gives students an opportunity to develop exegetical skills through close reading of Pauline letters. Students will engage in historical, literary, and theological study of at least two of Paul’s letters. In particular, they will engage with key elements in Paul’s explication of Christian faith and ethics.

Pedagogy

This unit is underpinned by teaching practices and strategies (e.g. lectures with exegetical workshops) which encourage student engagement and participation in a variety of learning tasks and opportunities which foster deep learning. A flipped classroom approach, where students are required to prepare in advance to participate in class, is used.
