This unit is designed to consolidate and develop the language skills gained from introductory studies in Koine Greek (or in New Testament Greek, which is a subset of Koine Greek). Students will translate and analyse excerpts of epistles taken predominantly from the New Testament but also from contemporaneous Greek writings. They will revise and extend their knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, exegesis and the study of manuscript variants. (Cross-listed with BN9505C.)

Interactive lectures and discussions. If the class enrolment is very small then some of the engagement hours may be converted into study hours. The unit is secured against the use of generative AI tools by the incorporation of recorded lecturer/student conversations into at least 50% of the assessment, in tasks spanning all the learning outcomes.
