This unit is designed to introduce students to a basic knowledge of classical Hebrew. The unit concentrates on the “strong verb” with a view to preparing students for rudimentary exegesis from the Hebrew text and for the possible further study of Hebrew.
Control the “regular” paradigm of Classical Hebrew word forms
Identify the basic syntactical elements of Classical Hebrew
Demonstrate a knowledge of a select Hebrew vocabulary
Understand the meaning of select medium difficulty Hebrew biblical texts
Apply their knowledge of Hebrew to the exegesis of medium difficulty biblical Hebrew texts.
