Within the context of Christian faith, this unit explores the following themes: (1) The nature of moral experience, the significance of religious faith for the moral life, the sources of moral knowledge. (2) The history of the moral theology within the Catholic tradition. (3) Personal morality, moral conscience, sin, conversion, significance of spiritual life for the personal moral life of the Christian.

Learning outcomes

1.	Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between moral experience and religious faith for the Christian.
2.	Analyse the implications of the history of moral theology within the Catholic tradition.
3.	Demonstrate an understanding of the sources of moral knowledge within the Catholic tradition and their role in the formation of conscience.
4.	Explicate in detail the relationship between personal morality and moral conscience within the Catholic tradition.
