Content

This unit explores the phenomenon of prophecy in Israel during the eighth century BCE. The theology of specific prophets will be considered, including motifs such as covenant, eschatology, law and cult, social justice, election, “the remnant”, and foreign nations. Critical and exegetical tools will be employed to study selected passages in Isaiah, Micah, Amos and Hosea.
